The Georgetown Hoyas have beaten out an area rival for a 2017 recruit.
Jamarko Pickett, a native of Woodstock, Virginia, has committed to the Hoyas. Jeff Ermann of InsideMDSports.com first reported the news on Friday afternoon, stating that Pickett had chosen the Hoyas over the Maryland Terrapins.
247Sports lists Pickett as the fourth-ranked player in the state of Virginia, standing behind Kansas commit Billy Preston, Iowa State commit Lindell Wigginton and Texas commit Matt Coleman, all of whom were teammates at the famed Oak Hill Academy.
