As we await the release of the full Big East schedule (coming Tuesday at Noon ET), the Big East’s official Twitter account gave us a preview of the schedule, focusing in on the annual FS1 marathon.
The big difference between this year’s Big East Marathon and years’ past is the timing. While it has been more of a tip-off event to open conference play, the conference decided on Martin Luther King Day this year, likely to avoid going head-to-head with the College Football Playoff on New Year’s Eve.
All in all, this is a great idea. Most people don’t have school on MLK Day, so the arenas should be full, and most people don’t have work, so ratings should be high.
