AMES, IOWA — When Mark Mangino looks at the running back position he doesn’t see the inexperience or think about the potential. Both of those thing do certainty warrant discussion, but he sees and thinks about something else.
They may be young. They may be inexperienced. They may have potential. The word Mangino prefers when discussing the group of runners, however, is talent.
“I’m not concerned about the running back position because it’s a talented position,” Mangino says when asked if the group could surprise.
