Winners and losers from Big 12 bowl season

The Big 12 finished 4-2 in the bowl games, with all four wins, arguably, ranking better than the league’s best nonconference victory in the regular season. Still, winners and losers abound in the wake of the past month.

Here’s a look at three on each side as the conference moves on from a largely successful postseason:

Winners

Baylor QB Zach Smith: In his first chance to play before new coach Matt Rhule, who watched from afar at the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl, Smith dissected Boise State in the Bears’ 31-12 victory.
