AUSTIN, Texas -- The Red River rejoicing lasted a good weekend. That was 10 days ago. Even with a bye week, the euphoria had to have an expiration date.
A well-timed week off gave Texas a chance to rest up and remember: The Longhorns are now a two-win team facing an uphill climb to six.
“We’re still 2-4,” Texas linebacker Peter Jinkens said. “We still haven’t done anything yet.”
You only get to call it a turning point if you keep winning. The signature wins only stay memorable if they lead to better things.
