As we head into the offseason, here are three questions facing Texas Tech:
1. What happens at quarterback?
After leading the nation in passing, Patrick Mahomes II declared for the NFL draft earlier this month, leaving a gigantic void at quarterback.
That likely means Nic Shimonek will get the first crack at the full-time job. In his one and only meaningful appearance last season, the former Iowa transfer showed he could be up to the task. After Mahomes was injured against Kansas, Shimonek replaced him and completed 15 of 21 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns.
