Texas finding efficiency in rebuilding its passing attack

AUSTIN, Texas -- One year ago this week, Texas quarterback Jerrod Heard shredded a porous Cal defense for 364 passing yards on 20 completions in a last-second loss. And the Longhorns’ passing game was never the same -- except not in the good way.

That same offense ended up producing 128 passing yards per game in conference play and finishing as one of the least effective passing attacks in recent Big 12 history.

How bad did it get? Texas’ 2015 offense had the second-fewest completions per game (11.6), third-fewest passing yards per game (146) of any Big 12 offense in the past decade.
