DALLAS -- The memories flowed for Cheri Shepard as she walked through Fair Park last Saturday, making her way to the Cotton Bowl for the latest installment of the Red River Showdown between Oklahoma and Texas.
The mother of Oklahoma senior receiver Sterling Shepard, Cheri was proudly sporting one of her son's No. 3 jerseys. Much to her chagrin, she was also sporting some unwanted beer on one of her sleeves, one of the perils of the job if you're going to brave the mass of human traffic, part crimson and part burnt orange, as they slurp down suds and talk a little pregame smack in one of college football's most unique settings.
