Raymond Taylor overcame odds to become Oklahoma State's starting RB

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Raymond Taylor has always preferred a good challenge.

One time in elementary school, he was given an open-book test. While the other kids rummaged through their textbooks, Taylor kept his shut, believing he could ace the test without it.

“He loves challenges,” said his mother, Erica Taylor. “Always very determined and competitive.”

Those attributes have paid off for Taylor, who has overcome long odds and a winding road to become the starting running back this season for No. 6 Oklahoma State, which is 10-0 and in the thick of the College Football Playoff conversation.
