TCU middle linebacker Ty Summers recorded 10 tackles or more in eight games season, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors. His 9.4 tackles per game rank second to teammate Travin Howard and 23rd nationally.
The sophomore from San Antonio, a former high school quarterback, has started 15 games over the past two years. He recorded 23 tackles last year against Baylor, 16 this season against Iowa State and 14 apiece in the Horned Frogs’ most recent games -- a loss to Oklahoma State and a Thanksgiving victory over Texas.
The win over the Longhorns landed TCU, at 6-6, a spot in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Friday against Georgia (noon ET, ESPN).
