Kansas State safety Dante Barnett was having the ideal collegiate career.
He fought his way into the starting lineup as a true freshman on Kansas State's 2012 Big 12 title-winning squad, then started 27 straight games before a season-ending shoulder injury ended his senior season in the 2015 opener. Now, fresh off a medical redshirt, Barnett returns to the Wildcats lineup to provide a stellar, experienced presence in the secondary.
During Big 12 media days last month, Barnett chatted with ESPN.com about Kansas State’s preparations for its season-opening game, his frustrating 2015 season and his renewed passion for football.
