Iowa State got great news this week as Mitchell Meyers returned to Ames, Iowa, reports Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register.
The Cyclones defensive end missed last season while battling Hodgkin's lymphoma. Meyers returned home to The Woodlands, Texas, to get treatment after being diagnosed in February 2015.
"Right now I couldn't be in a better situation health-wise," Meyers told Birch. "It's a good feeling."
Meyers started every game during the 2014 season, recording 30 tackles including two tackles for loss. Meyers is not in school so he's not allowed to practice with the Cyclones yet, but he plans to spend time with trainers and strength staff to work towards a return to the field.
