Kansas coach David Beaty hopes to use the success of the World Series champion Kansas City Royals as an example for his program, writes Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World.
The Royals were known for their struggles in the 2000s before starting their rise in 2013.
“It’s amazing how the people that are there now were allowed to develop even when people were saying, ‘Why are you pinch-hitting this guy? Why aren’t you pinch-hitting for this guy?’," Beaty told Tait. "Some really, really cool things happened throughout this season that, really, you can track all the way back to the beginning.
