K-State endures spring growing pains without QB Jesse Ertz

In case anyone wondered if Bill Snyder had grown a touch soft this spring, weathering cancer treatment since December at age 77, the Kansas State coach offered sharp analysis before the Wildcats’ spring game when asked to elaborate on the complimentary words spoken one week earlier by his son, associate head coach Sean Snyder, about the K-State offense.

“Things can change in a week,” the elder Snyder barked. “And they have.”

Make no mistake, Bill Snyder knows of what he speaks.

The Wildcats return the core of their offensive talent from a team that averaged 33 points over their final seven games, winning six of them to finish 9-4.
