GPS technology keeps Oklahoma players on their toes

Oklahoma is using GPS technology to track the performance of around 50 Sooners this fall, reports Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman.

College football is following in the footsteps of other sports that use GPS technology worldwide with Florida State and Kentucky among the college football programs using the technology. The data is used to track performance and efforts of the players in practices and games.

“What we really tend to look at, especially early in camp, is how their volume and intensity builds,” strength and conditioning coach Sam Coad told Aber. “So if we've got a fair idea of what a football game is, we need to build from the starting block all the way up.
