Matt Freeman, a native of New Zealand, verbally committed to Oklahoma on Thursday, he told Scout. "The coaches are great and I just see myself fitting in there better than anywhere else," Freeman told Scout. "I see it as the best opportunity for me as an individual to develop into the best player I can be. It's a great place too and the campus is beautiful." Freeman took an unofficial visit to Oklahoma earlier this week. He also had strong interest from Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Butler, Wake Forest, Arizona State and Dayton. A 6-foot-8 forward, Freeman is known his ability to stretch the floor with his jump shot.
