STILLWATER, Okla. — With key defensive backs from last year's team moving on, among the biggest questions facing Oklahoma State’s defense this offseason was how it would defend the pass.
And yet, before their spring practices even began, the Cowboys moved their only experienced cover man, Ramon Richards, from cornerback to free safety.
That has placed a tremendous onus on Oklahoma State’s rather inexperienced corners to fill the void in a pass-happy Big 12, where sticking to receivers is paramount. It also creates an interesting test study about whether a 5-foot-10, 180-pound safety can hold up against to run well enough in order to enhance a pass defense.
