Bowl losses to Ole Miss have boosted Oklahoma State's acension

Oklahoma State and Ole Miss, who will face one another again in the New Year’s Day Allstate Sugar Bowl, have met twice before in bowls.

Both produced two very aesthetically different games. Both the Cowboys lost. And yet both became fulcrum points in Oklahoma State’s ascension as a perennial national force.

The first, the 2003 season Cotton Bowl, Cowboys wideout Rashaun Woods delivered a memorable performance in the final game of his illustrious career; Eli Manning’s, however, was just as memorable.

The second, the 2009 season Cotton Bowl, the Pokes produced perhaps the worst offensive performance in their bowl history.
