Baylor running back Devin Chafin should return to the Bears football team in the fall, reports John Werner of the Waco Tribune. Chafin was arrested in Oklahoma over the weekend and was immediately suspended by Baylor coach Art Briles.
“He’ll be back,” Briles told Werner. “It’s his first offense in over a four-year period, and he had some bad judgment, just like a lot of us do."
Chafin has never been a primary running back during his first three seasons, but has 1,256 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns during his career. The senior has played a key role in the red zone, with 19 of his 21 career touchdowns on red-zone carries.
