It's bowl season, which means we've got a full slate of Big 12 bowl games to look forward to as December segues into January. We're here to break down all of the conference-affiliated matchups announced on Sunday.
Russell Athletic Bowl (5:30pm EST, Dec. 29th)
Orlando, FL
#17 Baylor Bears vs. #10 North Carolina Tar Heels
In one of the premier non-New Year's Six bowl games, this top-20 matchup features two of the highest scoring offenses in the country. Baylor's quarterback position will be a major question mark as they were forced to play a wideout at the position due to injuries to all of their QB's on the roster.
AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl (9:00pm EST, Dec. 29th)
Houston, TX
Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. #20 LSU Tigers
Texas Tech scores in bunches, but also give up plenty of points. Leonard Fournette could return to his mid-season form against the Red Raiders, as they don't stop the run as well as other SEC schools.
National Semifinal
Capital One Orange Bowl (4:00pm EST, Dec. 31st)
Miami, FL
#1 Clemson Tigers vs. #4 Oklahoma Sooners
There will be plenty of intensity with a berth in the national championship game on the line, but Oklahoma is also looking for revenge for their 40-6 loss to Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl last year. Two Heisman contending quarterbacks in Deshaun Watson and Baker Mayfield will also make this one extremely entertaining.
AllState Sugar Bowl (8:30pm ET, Jan. 1st)
New Orleans, LA
#16 Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. #12 Ole Miss Rebels
It looked like this was going to be Ole Miss vs. TCU, but Baylor's loss to Texas gave the the Cowboys the tiebreaker with Baylor out of the picture. The Cowboys finished the year 10-2, but ended with losses to Baylor and Oklahoma down the stretch. Ole Miss was a win over Arkansas from playing in the SEC Championship game. Ole Miss was blown out in its New Year's Six Bowl last season, and the Rebels will want to avoid a similar fate this season.
AutoZone Liberty Bowl (3:20pm EST, Jan. 2nd)
Memphis, TN
Kansas State Wildcats vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
KSU probably would have made this bowl game even if it didn't upset West Virginia in the final week of the season. At 6-6, the Wildcats will likely be underdogs against the 7-5 Razorbacks. Arkansas closed the season strong, just like they did last year.
Valero Alamo Bowl (6:45pm EST, Jan. 2nd)
San Antonio, TX
#11 TCU Horned Frogs vs. #15 Oregon Ducks
100 combined points? 110? There is going to be a shootout at the Alamo between two of the most high-octane offenses in the nation.
Cactus Bowl (10:15pm EST, Jan. 2nd)
Phoenix, AZ
West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Arizona State Sun Devils
WVU is fresh off a disappointing one-point loss to Kansas State, and they'll square off with a Sun Devils team looking to end an uneven 2015 campaign on a high note.
