It was during the final moments of the excellent 30 for 30 on the Phi Slama Jama days of Houston basketball that it came to me. Maybe the Big 12 was smart not to add UH to the mix this week. Nostalgia is no way to run a conference.
Clearly, the Cougars were expected to be given strong consideration more for their high-flying football team -- currently ranked 11th, just in between the top two Big 12 teams -- than a basketball program that has failed to land another Hakeem Olajuwon or Clyde Drexler in the last 30 years.
