Baylor history was made on New Year’s Day as No. 7 Baylor football broke the school record with their 12th win of the season to win the Sugar Bowl for the first time since 1957 beating No. 8 University of Mississippi 21-7 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
With the victory, Baylor is now 2-1 in the Sugar Bowl and 14-12 in bowl games overall. The Bears also set the school record for most single season wins over ranked teams with five. In the first 109 years of the program the Bears had one 10-win season, but now have six in the last 11 seasons.
