Junior linebacker Clay Johnston is primed to have a breakout spring in 2018. Johnston made a name for himself on the field last season, but will be in more of a leadership role heading into fall of 2018. Johnston led Baylor in tackles, before a wrist injury ended his 2018 season with four games left. Now that Taylor Young has graduated and moved on, Johnston will be the leader of the Bears defense moving forward.
With a solid offseason and continued growth, seeing how Johnston runs the defense will be an interesting story to watch during the spring.
