Baylor has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA related to the football sexual assault scandal at the school, sources familiar with the process confirmed Monday evening.
Among the allegations, the school is cited for "a lack of institutional control" -- a phrase associated with major violations.
Former football coach Art Briles, who was fired in in May 2016, following an internal report overseen by the law firm Pepper Hamilton, is also cited in the allegations, the source indicated. Although Briles is no longer coaching in college, he could possibly be subject to an NCAA show-cause penalty.
