On his thoughts on his successor, current SMU head coach Chad Morris:
"I think Chad is a really good football guy and he's a good person, more importantly than anything. I think if he can do it, that would be awesome. If he can't do it, I would say they should just pack it in and be a basketball school. But he's a winner. He's done it at both the high school level and the college level.
