Guy Morriss, who coached Baylor from 2003-07 and is an Arlington Sam Houston graduate, has been battling Alzheimer's for nine months, a Kentucky television station reported.
WKYT-TV in Lexington, Ky. reported that Morriss, who played in the NFL from 1973-1987, visited the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging last fall. Testing revealed Morriss was in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.
"People say, 'What's wrong with Coach Morriss? Why is he doing this? He's kind of sluggish,'" said Morris, 66.
The ex-Bears coach said he wouldn't accept a dementia diagnosis at first after seeking out help at the Center for Brain Health in Dallas.
