With the number 3 pick in the NFL draft, the New York Jets selected USC quarterback Sam Darnold. And with that selection, it seems Bryce Petty, former Baylor quarterback star, had his fate with the organization sealed. Petty was waived today from the roster, cutting the New York Jets down to four quarterbacks.
Petty had an outstanding career at Baylor, leading the Bears to an 11-2 record and Big 12 championship in 2013 and another 11-2, Big 12 championship season in 2014. Petty had also recently come back and spoken with the current team after their spring game.
