There hasn't been an official announcement, but a Mavericks source confirmed that the team will elevate Texas Legends guard and former Baylor standout Pierre Jackson to its roster and sign him to a partially guaranteed two-year contract.
The source also confirmed that guard Jonathan Gibson will be waived to make room on the roster for Jackson. Signed in November, Gibson was pressed into playing duty (6.2-point average in 17 games) when the Dallas backcourt incurred a rash of injuries, but his playing time has dwindled in recent weeks as injured players have returned.
In 10 games with the Legends, the 5-foot-11 Jackson, 25, is averaging a D-League-leading 29.
