Former Baylor president Ken Starr defended former head football coach Art Briles in an interview with The Waco Tribune-Herald Wednesday, calling Briles "an honorable man."
Briles was fired last May for his role in Baylor's sexual assault scandal. Starr was removed from his role as president at that time and later resigned as the school's chancellor and from his role as a law professor.
"I continue to believe that Art Briles is an honorable man," Starr told The Waco Tribune. "There may have been ways -- and he would have to speak to it -- of improving accountability, but I do not believe Art Briles conducted himself in a dishonorable way.
