In the absence of junior Terence Williams, sophomore JaMycal Hasty got the start for Baylor tonight and looked to be the Bears’ likely bellcow through non-conference play. Then he went down in the second quarter with a “lower extremity injury” and missed the rest of the game. Afterwards, Rhule indicated during his post-game press conference that Hasty has a “possible MCL sprain” and will miss the next couple of weeks, possibly more.
With Hasty now joining Williams on the shelf for the near future, Baylor will lean hard on a trio of freshmen — John Lovett, walk-on Dru Dixon, and Trestan Ebner — to fill the void.
