Former Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett broke his silence about rape and cover-up allegations surrounding the Baylor program in an extensive interview with Mac Engel of the Star-Telegram.
Among the topics Bennett discussed:
-- Whether he or members of Baylor's staff tried to hide or cover up allegations of sexual assault:
"Never. If I had heard about it, trust me ... no. My integrity, and I could say this when I was 29, my integrity was more important than any job I ever had."
-- How he feels about Art Briles and his quest to return to coaching:
"Every night I say a prayer for him because, without question, I think he deserves to (coach again).
