The U.S. women's 18-and-under basketball team trials are this month, and three local players are among the 27 players invited to try out. The locals:
Chennedy Carter, 5-9 junior guard, Mansfield Timberview
Lauren Cox, 6-4 senior forward, Flower Mound
Vivian Gray, 6-1 junior forward, Argyle
Cox won gold last year as a member of the Under-18 team, and also won golds with the 2014 USA Women's U17 World Championship Team and the 2013 USA Women's U16 National Team.
Two other Texans are on the trials roster -- guard Chasity Patterson of Galena Park North Shore and guard Amber Ramirez of San Antonio Wagner.
