When Baylor coach Matt Rhule was first getting to know junior JaMycal Hasty, he admits they didn’t necessarily click right away.
It wasn’t that Rhule and Hasty didn’t get along. It was more about trying to figure out how to build a relationship with the quiet running back. Eventually, Hasty opened up and Rhule figured out what made him tick.
After one season with the Bears, Rhule is starting to feel a little more settled in Waco. The increased familiarity with his surroundings and his team could pay dividends this fall.
“I don’t know where we are, but I know we’re way better than we were,” Rhule said about his team that went 1-11 in 2017.
