Former Baylor football coach Art Briles and his family are starting a campaign to benefit a Waco advocacy center for crime victims.
Briles, who was fired in May by the university in the wake of a sexual assault scandal, will donate up to $8,500 to The Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children as part of the "#cabCAREScampaign," according to a statement provided to The News. The dollar amount signifies his time in Waco and at Baylor before he was removed after a third-party investigation said football coaches and staff mishandled sexual assault allegations.
"First and foremost, my heart aches for all the sexual domestic assault victims and for those that have suffered and continue to suffer," Briles said in a statement.
