Baylor's quest for going undefeated in nonconference play just got a little easier.
After suffering injuries in Saturday's 21-7 win over Northwestern, Duke (2-0) starting quarterback Daniel Jones and corner Mark Gilbert underwent surgery on Sunday and will miss next week's game against Baylor (2-0).
Gilbert underwent hip surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Jones' surgery will address a broken left clavicle and he will be out indefinitely.
In last season's 34-20 win over Baylor, Jones completed 20-of-35 passes for 184 yards and an interception. He was also sacked 5 times. Gilbert had three pass breakups last season.
