It turns out breaking the Baylor single-game scoring record in a Big 12 game was good enough to earn Makai Mason conference player of the week honors.
Mason posted a career-high 40 points on 14 of 20 shooting from the floor and 9 of 12 from 3-point range in Saturday's win over TCU. His nine 3-pointers tied the program record for the most by a Baylor player in a conference game.
Mason is the Bears' leading scorer, averaging 16.7 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor ad 39 percent from 3-point range.
