Baylor coach Kim Mulkey thought one of the best post players in the country could be even better.
So last offseason, Mulkey looked for different ways to push center Kalani Brown.
Mulkey urged the senior to do a little extra work in the weight room or stay late after practice. In other cases, the Baylor coach just wanted to make Brown mad at her.
Brown may not have enjoyed Mulkey's tactics, but there was a reason. Mulkey wanted to make sure her star player was ready for a pivotal year.
Now, the 6-7 center is in uncharted territory.
