Baylor junior forward Johnathan Motley was named one of 15 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, handed out each year to the country's best player.
Voting for the award will take place before the end of March.
Motley has led Baylor in scoring (17.5 points) and rebounds (9.7) in his junior season. The Houston-native has also added 2.4 assists and 1.1 blocks per game this season.
The 6-foot-10, 230-pound power forward has been named Big 12 Player of the Week three times this season, a Baylor record.
The other Wooden Award finalists are UCLA's Lonzo Ball, Oregon's Dillon Brooks, Notre Dame's Bonzie Colson, Washington's Markelle Fultz, Wisconsin's Ethan Happ, Villanova's Josh Hart, Kansas' Josh Jackson, North Carolina's Justin Jackson, Duke's Luke Kennard, Arizona's Lauri Markkanen, Kansas' Frank Mason III, Kentucky's Malik Monk, Purdue's Caleb Swanigan and Gonzaga's Nigel Williams-Goss.
