NEW YORK -- Sitting with a nasty scratch over his right eye, Ish Wainright tried to provide perspective to a very good Baylor season that just ended badly.
"Nobody likes failure," the senior forward said. "But the guys didn't give up one bit. ... We went farther than anybody outside thought. We believed in ourselves from Day One."
Baylor's NCAA ride came to an end Friday in the Sweet 16, a 70-50 loss to a South Carolina team that has now eliminated the third-seeded Bears and second-seeded Duke in the East Region. The Gamecocks (25-10) will face Florida on Sunday with a trip to the Final Four at stake.
