No. 23 Baylor volleyball knocked off Rice in straight sets Tuesday: 25-20, 25-19 and 25-23, improving to 4-0 ahead of hosting the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge later this week.
The game began as a defensive slugfest, with 12 of the first 18 points scored on errors. Despite this, the Bears quickly hit their groove, scoring from all directions en route to a 25-10 set win. Baylor twice managed 3-0 runs with three different scorers, including an ace from sophomore outside hitter Kendal Murphy, before senior outside hitter Elise McGhee closed it out with her third of 13 kills.
