Baylor is switching starting quarterbacks for its next game, coach Matt Rhule announced Monday.
The 0-2 Bears will start sophomore Zach Smith over Anu Solomon against Duke on Saturday, Rhule revealed during his weekly teleconference.
Many believed Smith would be the starting quarterback to open the season before Rhule bestowed that responsibility upon Solomon for the first two games.
When asked after Saturday's 17-10 loss to UT-San Antonio if he considered making an in-game change at quarterback as the Bears' offense sputtered, Rhule said:
"I have a lot of confidence in Zach (Smith)," he said.
