Baylor Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kim Mulkey must be feeling pretty confident in this upcoming season’s squad because we haven’t seen such high profile teams on the non-conference schedule since the Britney Griner heydays. In 2011, the year the Lady Bears went 40-0, they had UConn (#2), Tennessee(#6), Notre Dame (#2) and UCLA (#22) on the non-conference schedule. The next season highlighted Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee and Kentucky (all ranked in the top ten).
This year’s schedule includes UConn and South Carolina, both of which should be in the Top 5 again. South Carolina (final ranking #6) lost to UConn in the Albany Reginal Final and UConn (final ranking#3) lost in the Final Four to eventual National Champ Notre Dame.
