Baylor Lady Bears guard Chameka Scott dies from cancer | Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Chameka Scott, who was a starting guard on the Baylor women’s basketball team that won a national title in 2005, died from cancer on Sunday night, the school announced. She was 33 years old.

As a junior for the Lady Bears, Scott started 35 of 36 games. And in her team’s 2005 national championship victory that same season, she recorded 7 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting, as well as 4 rebounds and 3 assists. As a senior, the guard averaged 9 points and 6 assists per game.

Following her collegiate career, she played for the WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs and in Europe.
