The College Football Playoff Selection Committee has spoken. Clemson (8-0), LSU (7-0), Ohio State (8-0), and Alabama (7-1) would make up the top four teams vying for a national championship if the season ended today.
Following the Crimson Tide comes Notre Dame (7-1) at the fifth spot, Baylor (7-0) at the sixth spot, Michigan State (8-0) at the seventh spot, TCU (8-0) at the eighth spot, Iowa (8-0) at the ninth spot, and Florida (7-1) at the tenth spot.
Other than the surprising pick of including one-loss teams Alabama and Notre Dame at the fourth and fifth spots respectively, it seems as though Baylor was unrightfully punished for breakout star quarterback Seth Russell undergoing season-ending neck surgery.
