As speculation mounts on just how much Baylor Bears head coach Art Briles knew about former player Sam Ukwuachu’s violent past, the university itself could soon be in hot water over its handling of the matter.
Per a report by Matthew Watkins of The Texas Tribune, legal experts say that Baylor could find itself questioned by both lawyers and federal investigators regarding its internal investigation of Ukwuachu’s case and how Ukwuachu himself was handled in the aftermath. Just last week, Ukwuachu was convicted of the sexual assault of a former Baylor soccer player back in 2013 and was sentenced to six months in jail, plus 10 years’ felony probation.
