With all due respect, I’m wondering if Smith meant “anemic” as his adjective of choice.
When it comes to lighting up the scoreboard, there is no electricity to the Bears’ lineup. The power outage the team has experienced in the past two seasons prior to this one continues to linger. While I noted last year in a column that college baseball as a whole was enduring a slump due to the deadened BBCOR bats, measures were implemented this year to give scoring a boost. Specifically, a new, flatter-seamed baseball was introduced.
For the most part, it’s helped.
