Baylor is adding more out-of-state talent to its 2019 recruiting class.
The Bears picked up a verbal commitment from three-star Piper (Fla.) defensive back Cecil Powell on Tuesday, per various reports.
Powell, who was in Waco for an official visit this weekend, picked Baylor over offers from FIU, Indiana, Kent State, Southern Miss, Toledo, South Florida and others.
At 6-foot-1, 193 pounds, Powell is ranked as the No. 131 safety in the country and No. 217 overall prospect in the state, per 247Sports Composite.
Baylor now has 16 verbal commits in its 2019 class, which ranks fourth in the Big 12.
