Baylor baseball took down Sam Houston State 4-2 in 12 innings Tuesday night in Huntsville behind a game-winning RBI from freshman right fielder Davion Downey.
The Bears (15-16) battled back and forth with the Bearkats (23-9) before pulling away in extra innings.
Freshman pitcher Tyler Thomas made his sixth start of the season and pitched three scoreless innings to start the game.
In the top of the fourth inning, sophomore first baseman Andy Thomas reached first on a single, and a double by sophomore catcher Shea Langeliers put Thomas in scoring position.
