Chuck Carlton, Big 12 beat writer for SportsDayDFW.com and The Dallas Morning News, answered your questions about the league in a live chat on Wednesday. Below are highlights, edited for clarity.
Do you put much stock into bowl records? The Big 12 as a conference fared rather well in bowl season.
Carlton: On the whole, bowl records don't matter much. But in the case of the Big 12, the postseason the past three years has helped the conference's image. The Big 12 has been above .500 each of the past three seasons and those much-mocked defenses have held up pretty well (Oklahoma in the playoffs, notwithstanding).
