After a second consecutive year of drawing NFL interest, Baylor is still home for Matt Rhule

For the second consecutive year, Matt Rhule interviewed with an NFL team about its head coach opening.

And for the second consecutive year, Rhule is still at Baylor.

After multiple Twitter reports had listed him as a front-runner for the New York Jets job, Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades confirmed Wednesday evening that Rhule was staying via text.

“We are thrilled Matt will continue to lead our young men and football program,” Rhoades said. “Matt, the staff and our student-athletes have done a tremendous job building a foundation, moving the program forward and positioning it for more success in the future both on and off the field.
